London , FA Cup : Crystal Palace beat Tottenham 2-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup 2018-19 . Both the goals were scored in the first half . Tottenham failed to convert a penalty just before the half time break .
After losing the penalty shootout to Chelsea in the EFL Cup , Mauricio Pochettino almost change the whole starting lineup . He made 7 changes here and in the result Tottenham losses the match to Crystal Palace .
Roy Hodgson also makes six changes in his starting lineup and its work well for him .
Crystal Palace straggles to get the ball possession in first few minutes . Though having the possession , Tottenham didn't able to get into the box . Goal !!! Cristal Palace scored the first goal in 9th minute , against the run of the play . Schlupp takes a shot from the edge of six-yard box , Gazzaniga saves it but the reflected ball finds Wickham and he sends it into the empty net . Spurs went for a quick attack just after the goal but due to a too long pass of Lucas the attack comes to an end . In 18th minutes , Lucas's powerful hit went ovar the bar . Crystal Palace got a chance, when van Aanholt receives a ball and shoot it towards the goal , the goalkeeper stretches his body and saves it .
Tottenham plays too many passes in their half and trying to go forward . Crystal Palace happy to stay on their side . In the 32nd minutes Spurs gives a penalty gift to Place . Walker-Peters went to clear a cross and made a hand ball . Townsend makes no mistake to score from the spot . Cristal Palace takes the lead to 2-0 .
Spurs defence makes lots of mistakes now and Place try to take advantage of it . Ward receives an injury on his nose because of refusing to go aside from the wall .
